CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten stated on Tuesday’s “News Central” that Vice President Kamala Harris is heading towards “the worst Democratic performance in a generation” with union voters.
Enten explained, “This morning, we’re focusing on key data points, and some just stand out immediately—this one should sound alarms. We’re looking at union households and Democratic margins in presidential elections. It’s not what it used to be. In 1992, Bill Clinton won the union vote by 30 points. By 2016, Hillary Clinton only won it by 12 points, the lowest for a Democrat since 1984, during Mondale vs. Reagan.”
He continued, “But as of today, Kamala Harris is leading by only nine points. That would mark the worst Democratic performance in a generation. She’s 10 points behind Joe Biden, who, four years ago, as ‘Union Joe,’ won by 19 points. If these numbers hold, it will be a historic low.”
